Stellite^® 6 is a Cobalt based alloy composed of 27%-32% chrome, 4%-6% Tungsten, 1%-2% Carbon, 3%-4% Nickel, 1%-2% Silicon and 3%-4% Iron. Due to the alloying, Stellite^® 6 has a matrix consisting of complex carbides that are especially useful for applications requiring excellent hardness and wear resistance. Its hardness values range between 36-45 HRC on the Rockwell scale and 380-490 HV on the Vickers scale. It is available in both powder and wire form for welding, laser clad or HVOF thermal spray processes.

DUPLEX STEEL WELDING ROD

Duplex 2205 is a nitrogen enhanced duplex stainless steel that was developed to combat common corrosion problems encountered with the 300 series stainless steels. “Duplex” describes a family of stainless steels that are neither fully austenitic, like 304 stainless, nor purely ferritic, like 430 stainless. The structure of 2205 duplex stainless steel consists of austenite pools surrounded by a continuous ferrite phase. In the annealed condition, 2205 contains approximately 40-50% ferrite. Often referred to as the work horse grade, 2205 is the most widely used grade in the duplex family of stainless steels.

The advantage of a duplex structure is that it combines the favorable qualities of a ferritic alloy (stress corrosion cracking resistance and high strength) with those of an austenitic alloy (ease of fabrication and corrosion resistance).

Usage of 2205 Duplex stainless steel should be limited to temperatures below 600° F. Extended elevated temperature exposure can embrittle 2205 stainless.

Duplex 2507 is a super duplex stainless steel designed for applications which demand exceptional strength and corrosion resistance.
Alloy 2507 has 25% chromium, 4% molybdenum, and 7% nickel. This high molybdenum, chromium and nitrogen content results in excellent resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion attack and the duplex structure provides 2507 with exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.

Usage of Duplex 2507 should be limited to applications below 600° F (316° C). Extended elevated temperature exposure can reduce both the toughness and        corrosion resistance of alloy 2507.

Duplex 2507 possesses excellent mechanical properties. Often a light gauge of 2507 material can be used to achieve the same design strength of a thicker nickel alloy. The resulting savings in weight can dramatically reduce the overall cost of fabrication.

NICKEL WELDING ROD
Nickel 201 is a pure formed Nickel with similar properties to Nickel 200 but with a lower carbon content to prevent embrittlement by inter-granular carbon at elevated temperatures.It possesses good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is best useful in reducing conditions. Exceptional resistance to caustic alkalis up to the molten state. In acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions the material shows great resistance, but in oxidizing salt solutions severe attack will ensue.Resistant to all dry gases at room temperature and in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride may be used in temperatures up to 550oC. Resistance to mineral acids varies according to temperature and concentration and whether the solution is aerated or not. Corrosion resistance is better in de-aerated acid. Practically resistant to inter granular attacks above 315oC, chlorates must be kept to a minimum.Machinability is the same as for Nickel 200. The 201 varieties are softer and “gummy” but can be readily machined by conventional mean. High-speed-steel tools are recommended. Nickel 201 is easily formed by conventional methods, it is especially well suited to forming parts by spinning.It can be welded by standard means as in the case with Nickel 200. However oxyacetylene welding should NOT be used with Nickel 201. Annealing should be done at 1650 oF to 1300 oF depending upon the degree of cold working and time at temperature.
